Founding Partner and Executive Director (CEO)

Germán Sanchis

Germán Sanchis is PhD in Computer Science with more than 15 years of experience in natural language processing and machine learning, both in academic research and industrial applications. He is author of more than 40 publications in international journals and conferences, member of the committee in several top-level artificial intelligence conferences (such as AAAI, ACL, EMNLP, ICASSP, CHI, among others), and he has also been co-director of several PhD theses in the field of natural language processing. Since 2014 he has been leading several technology transfer initiatives. Germán completed his training in project management (PRINCE2 Practitioner), service management (ITIL Foundations), process management (COBIT5), and agile development (Scrum Master), and also fulfilled a postgraduate degree in ecommerce management. Currently he is CEO of Sciling.
Founding Partner and Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Vicent Alabau

Vicent Alabau is COO and co-founder of Sciling. He has more than 15 years of experience executing and managing artificial intelligence projects. In 2014, he received his PhD from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, focused around Multimodal Interactive Structured Predictoin, and in 2015 he was awarded the Extraordinary Award to his PhD thesis. He has more than 50 publications in international conferences and journals. Vicent has been working on dozens of projects, both within academia and industry, related to artificial intelligence, from which his participation in two of the most important research programmes stand out: the Spanish Consolider-Ingenio 2010 Programme, and the VII Framework Programme of the European Union. In 2015, he received along with Sciling a grant from the European Union’s H2020 SME Instrument programme. He is interested in enterprise and operational management, which led him to receive training in SME management and was certified in PRINCE2, ITIL, COBIT5, and Scrum.

Carlos Millán

Carlos Millán Soler is a Computer Engineer with a Master's Degree in Computer Engineering. His career at Sciling has been characterised by his versatility and participation in a wide range of different projects. Being part of the company since its inception has allowed him to learn to adapt to changing environments and new technologies with which he has had to deal with the implementation of efficient solutions and the resolution of complex problems. In addition to having contributed his knowledge of microservices, backend technology and engineering in general, in recent years, Carlos has focused his attention on the field of DevOps, designing and optimising the infrastructure necessary to ensure the effective deployment and monitoring of services and machine learning models.

His proactive approach and ability to collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams reflect the culture acquired at Sciling. He plays guitar and dolçaina and in his free time he enjoys reading, watching a good movie or simply photosynthesising with a beer in his hand. By the way, he uses Arch Linux.

Emilio Granell

Emilio Granell is an engineer in Telecommunications, MsC. in Artificial Intelligence, and PhD in Machine Learning. His passion for robotics led him to study industrial electronics, telecommunications, and artificial intelligence. His additional training includes Scrum Master and programming in mobile devices in Android. In addition to Spanish and Catalan, his mother languages, he also speaks English and French fluently. He has been an intern in private companies and international research centers in Switzerland, France, Iceland, and Colombia. He has taken part in numerous R&D projects related to Artificial Intelligence, speech recognition, handwritten text recognition, smart cities, human-computer interaction, and multimodal systems. He is author of numerous articles published in international conferences, journals, and also book chapters. He enjoys nature, especially pedalling in the mountains, and he has been trying to find the moment to learn guitar for more than 20 years.

Ihab Alkhoury

Ihab Khoury graduated from Bethlehem University, Palestine, in 2007. His final degree project was presented at the 2nd International Palestine Conference on ICT and was awarded the first prize. In 2007, Ihab received a studentship to take part in a three-month research programme about PET image registration at the Public University of Navarra, Pamplona, Spain. In 2008 he was awarded a scholarship by the Spanish Ministry of External Affairs and Cooperation to continue his studies in Artificial Intelligence and Image Recognition. In December 2010 and June 2015, respectively, he obtained his master’s and PhD degrees from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, and started to work on AI and ML. Ihab currently works as a research engineer at Sciling since July 2019. His work includes, among others: image recognition, audio transcription, pose estimation and tracking, signal processing, and generative networks (GANs).

Teresa González

Teresa González Monteagudo is a Multimedia Engineer with a MsC in Data Science. She fulfilled an internship at a bioinformatics company and at the Statistics office of the Valencian city hall. Her final degree project, related to image and text recognition and classification, awakened her interest in Artificial Intelligence, which led her to fulfilling a MsC focused on Big Data and Machine learning. Since she finished her MsC she has been working and consolidating her knowledge at Sciling, in a variety of projects, as a developer. She received training in agile software development (Scrum Master). She also has interest in teaching, which is why she also fulfilled a MsC in Teacher Training.

Adriana Gallego

Adriana helps companies to achieve their business strategy through digital transformation and to build their decision making on data through Advanced Analytics and Machine Learning techniques.
Manager with a clear orientation to objectives and the search for agile solutions, with technical training and extensive experience in all business areas.

Able to close the communication gap that often exists between technology and business, translating strategies, needs and complex concepts into actionable projects in a timely manner to meet business objectives.

Head of People & Talent

Paula Sánchez

Paula began her studies in the business branch, but when she discovered that she could dedicate herself to people in this field, she saw a very clear path and decided to study Labor Relations and Human Resources at the University of Valencia.
Her favorite subjects were Work Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Sociology... and at the other extreme, Labor Law.
What she finds most interesting, both professionally and personally, is human behavior. This explains the title of her dissertation "Shared Leadership and how it influences the work environment and employee performance".
And, driven by her desire to constantly learn new things, she also completed a Master's Degree in Talent Management at the University of Valencia.

Aitor Carricondo

Aitor Carricondo is a computer engineer with experience since 2019 in a wide variety of projects, ranging from IoT software development, physical and cloud server management, web application deployments with Docker, to helpdesk experience. At Sciling, his current role focuses on software development with Python. He has also played basketball for 15 years, which makes him a passionate basketball player.
Machine Learning Researcher

Ion Marqués

Ion Marqués is a computer engineer with a Master’s degree in Computational Engineering and Intelligent Systems, as well as a Doctorate in Computer Science. He has participated in numerous R&D&i projects as a researcher and in developing innovative products as an engineer and data scientist. He has also worked designing and implementing scalable solutions for predictive maintenance in the Energy and Transportation sectors. His most recent work concentrated on developing recommendation systems and virtual assistants. Ion’s main interest today is to build AI-based products that have a positive impact on society.

Maximiliano Villanueva

A software engineer since 2015 working as a backend developer, he is involved from the analysis phase to the development phase using different technologies. He has also taken up the role of data analyst, where he began to apply his knowledge in machine learning. Self-taught and passionate about technology, he has a special interest in the world of artificial intelligence.
Full Stack Developer

Gemma Martí

Gemma studied Telecommunications Engineering at the University of Alicante. During her university years, she mostly enjoyed programming and networking subjects.
In her first work experience, she discovered Python as a language and started working on the creation of applications to automate processes within the company. That experience allowed her to lead one of the software departments.
Sport and more specifically Handball is her passion. She has played for 17 years in different teams and leagues, even competing in the highest national league. Now she is dedicated to coaching and transmitting that passion to other girls.
Commitment, sacrifice, humility and teamwork are the values that sport has taught her and which she applies daily in her professional life.
She enjoys being out of her "comfort zone" and is always willing to give her best.
Back-end Developer and DevOps

Alejandro Barrera

Graduated in Computer Software Engineering, with experience in backend development since 2018, using different technologies under Java, Python and Bash languages. For years, he has been interested in best practices, innovation and cutting-edge technologies. He showed interest in Artificial Intelligence since his undergraduate studies and studied a Research Master in Artificial Intelligence in 2021-2022.
In the final stretch of the master's degree, he decided to complete his theoretical training with a job in Sciling, in order to continue training and specialising in this branch of technology. Since the beginning of 2023, he has been working as a Backend and DevOps Engineer in a cloud environment with Kubernetes for one of our most important clients.

Daniel Hernández

Daniel Hernández is an engineer in Computer Science with a Master's degree in Big Data Analysis Technologies has a PhD in Computer Science specialising in computer vision after completing his thesis "Analysis, design and implementation of artificial intelligence techniques in edge computing environments". He has published the results of his research in journals such as IEE IoT and remote sensing and in conferences such as iCPP and VTC. He has also participated in several projects to develop high-performance IOT infrastructure against climate change based on artificial intelligence, and on developing solutions for efficient traffic management. His main interests include computer vision, deep learning, edge computing, big data analytics, real-time data processing and cloud serverless architecture.

Carlos Bailón

Carlos Bailón is an Industrial Electronics Engineer with a Master’s in Data Science and a Doctorate in Information and Communication Technologies. During his time as a researcher, he has worked in multidisciplinary teams and projects that seek to create better models and understanding of human behaviour by using mobile technologies, data science and machine learning. Furthermore, his interest in scientific communication has led him to take part in events geared towards dissemination, and was a finalist in the 3 Minute Thesis contest.
His other passion is sports. Indeed, he has been an international athlete for 18 years, reaching the European finals. This has led him to have great determination, teamwork skills and a love of challenges, which are the basis of his philosophy for work at Sciling.
Design and Copywriting

Inma Soler

Inma Soler is a graphic designer and UX/UI. Graduated in Fine Arts in 2015, she specialised in design with the Master's Degree in Design and Illustration (UPV) in 2021 and completed her training with a Master's Degree in Secondary Education Teacher Training in 2022. Thanks to developing a Master's final project on user experience, she discovered the possibilities of this field and specialised in the design of multi-device digital experiences with a strong focus on usability and accessibility. Since 2019, she has worked on the graphic side of on/offline projects and as a UX/UI designer in the development of digital products alongside marketing and development teams. Since 2023, she has been studying Web Development, with the aim of furthering her knowledge and understanding of development teams.

At Sciling, she helps communicate the company's message and brand through the design and LinkedIn content writing. In her free time, she likes the comfort of a cup of tea, a good book and background music to relax.

Marketing

Paula Barambio

Paula Barambio has a Degree in Business Administration and Management. After working in Poland in a content marketing agency, she decided to continue exploring this broad sector and continued her studies with a Master's Degree in Digital Marketing and Sales Management. She then took her marketing and sales skills to the photovoltaic sector.
Being such an active and curious person, he decided to enter the world of AI where she is currently at Sciling. She continues her training in other specific areas within marketing.

In her free time she enjoys "gym and yum": she is passionate about sports and never misses the opportunity to go out with her friends for a drink.

Claudia Gómez

Claudia Gómez is a professional in the field of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. She completed her Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science at the University of Havana, where she stood out for her dedication to teaching, teaching programming classes to first year students, initially as a teaching assistant.

Driven by her enthusiasm for word processing and Artificial Intelligence, she pursued a progressive academic path. Two years after completing her degree and after gaining experience in software development and agile methodologies, she turned her focus towards obtaining a Master's Degree in Artificial Intelligence, Shape Recognition and Digital Imaging at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, then consolidated her knowledge during a year at the company Pangeanic.

Salvador Moreno

Salvador Moreno is an Industrial Electronic Engineer, Master in Data Science and PhD in Information and Communication Technologies. In his research career, his passion for technology led him to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in the health sector, developing mobile systems for monitoring and personalised diagnosis in cancer patients, professional athletes and elderly people. Since then, data science and machine learning have been indispensable tools for him, allowing him to better understand the context of each problem and refine decision-making processes in the energy and business sectors.

In his free time, he enjoys sports and, above all, music. His guitar, bass and keyboard have been accompanying him on his jams and recordings for more than ten years. This has allowed him to integrate lifelong learning and stepping out of the comfort zone as something organic and natural in his everyday life.

Mateo Pérez

He is a Telecommunications Engineer and holds a Master's degree in Machine Learning and Multimedia Data Science. His passion for multimedia (music, photography, videogames...) led him to specialise in sound and image, and from there to make the leap to the world of Computer Vision, where he spent several years training outside Spain, in the USA and Japan. In Tokyo, he participated for 3 years in a research project focused on Human Pose Estimation, which was published at the IEVC2021 conference. In addition, he has worked as an AI engineer on a wide variety of projects ranging from 3D reconstructions of the environment to aircraft tracking for intelligent air traffic control towers.

He is curious person and loves challenges. What motivates him the most is to carry out projects that, at first sight, seem impossible, as they allow him to bring out his most creative side.

Business Development

Daniel Aliaga

Daniel Aliaga is a graduate of the first class in Spain of the Robotics Engineering degree. During his studies he worked with industrial robots and artificial vision applications, discovering the potential of Artificial Intelligence. In his first job, he was dedicated to training non-technical people in the field of business. Now at Sciling, he seeks to help companies to add value by carrying out their innovation projects.
Jotty Product Manager

Martina Acquani

Martina started her professional career in renowned companies such as L'Oreal, Danone and Beiersdorf. However, she took a 180º turn when she arrived in Spain, where she decided to focus on technological development through startups, specialising as a product manager.
Passionate about challenging conventions and stimulating constant growth, Martina is a restless mind that never stops. Her decision making is based on analysis, talking to customers and maintaining an agile approach to problem solving. Qualities that have made her stand out throughout her career, bringing value to teams dedicated to building businesses of the future.

Her trajectory was recognised in 2019, when she was selected by the Vital Voices Foundation to be part of the "Mujeres Líderes del Cono Sur" programme. In addition, the newspaper El Cronista included her in the list of "Under-35" leaders. Martina's personal commitment focuses on the empowerment of women, with the firm purpose of promoting a paradigm shift within organisations.

Armando Gomis

Armando Gomis is a Computer Engineer with a Master's degree in Data Science and currently a PhD student in the field of Artificial Intelligence applied to the improvement of diagnostics and prognostics in clinical environments. As a researcher, he has participated in a wide range of projects at both national and European level. His experience covers diverse sectors, from the fight against cybercrime and cyberterrorism to pediatric oncology, and his main interest is in enriching people's quality of life through the development of Artificial Intelligence products that have a significant impact on human well-being.

Outside the professional sphere, Armando is passionate about extreme sports and feels a deep connection with nature. He enjoys surfing, snowboarding and canyoning, finding in these activities an active way to connect with the natural environment.

Machine Learning Engineer

Jorge Román

Computer Engineer with a Master's degree in Data Science from the University of Alicante. His interest in Machine Learning and artificial intelligence awoke while he was working on his final project, which focused on the recognition of everyday actions with an advanced smart bracelet. Driven by this interest, he decided to continue his education in this field and decided to take the master's degree, where he acquired solid knowledge in artificial intelligence.
Given his great passion for innovation and technology along with this inclination towards AI, he started developing projects related to this field, ranging from participation in Kaggle competitions to initiatives related to the extraction of football statistics through video analysis.

He has worked for almost two years as a Data Engineer in the banking sector. During this period, he applied his skills and knowledge to address challenges related to data processing and analysis.

Another of his great passions is sports, so he has been playing football since he was 5/6 years old.
